Revised Club Elections
Written by Rishi Garg on April 15, 2008

Well, the conference is over! Everyone did an excellent job and I think you all realize how educational and fun MUN really is. With the next school year coming soon, our club needs to hold elections for officers.

We will have the following positions in the club: 2 co-presidents, 2 first-country ambassadors, and 2 second-country ambassadors. You can be a co-president and an ambassador, but you can't be an ambassador of both countries. There will be an eligibility rule to run for co-president. You must have an attendance rate of at least 80% (that's a B). To check your attendance rate, go to the "Program" page and click on the "General" tab.

If you do not meet the eligibility requirement to run for Co-President, you can go through an appeals process. You may make a short speech about why you should be allowed to run. Then, the club will vote as a whole on your eligibility. You need to get two-thirds of the club's vote in order to become eligible. Remember, you do not need to meet the eligibility requirement if you want to run for an ambassador position.

We will be having the elections tomorrow. We will first make a list of everyone who wants to run, and then each candidate will give a very short speech. We will then vote by paper, and the winners will be announced during the meeting.

We will also be working on ideas for next year, so come prepared with some thoughts on how to improve the club. Thanks for a great year, and I hope you decide to stay for next year!

Permission Slips & Money
Written by Rishi Garg on April 5, 2008

Hey everyone,

I just want to remind you that with the conference coming up this week, we need to make sure that everyone has turned in their forms and money. Make sure that you have given a check for $50 to Mr. Duran. Also make sure you have turned in both the BSD permission slip and the Code of Conduct. If you do not turn in all of these items, the school will not be able to let you go on the trip. Remember, we leave at about 6:30 on Thursday morning!

Work on Resolutions!
Written by Rishi Garg on March 22, 2008

Hey everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your spring break so far. I am! I hate to have to add work to your break, but I want to remind you that MUN will not accept any resolutions after Wednesday, April 2. That means that you need to finish your resolutions by the day of our next meeting. I want to keep a copy of everyone's resolutions, so please send them to me when you are done. If you want me to help you edit it, just let me know.

Thanks!

Bring Resolutions
Written by Rishi Garg on March 16, 2008

Hi, MUN-ers!

It would be very helpful for all of us if you would bring a rough draft of your first resolution this Wednesday. It doesn't have to be perfect; it just needs to be started, and something that you can work on at the meeting. Resolutions should be much easier to do than position papers, so by the time they're finished, they should be pretty good! Remember, you're trying to write a resolution that people in your committee would support.

See you Wednesday (if not tomorrow)!

Money Due
Written by Rishi Garg on March 12, 2008

I just want to remind everyone that a total of $50 will be due next Friday. It would be nice if the money was turned in before then. Please make sure that if it is a check, it is made out to ISB. Before you give the money to Mr. Duran, tell me so that I can check your name off the list. Thank you!

New Website Feature
Written by Rishi Garg on March 11, 2008

Hi, everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that today, I added a new feature to the website. You probably know that I post a lot of news articles on this page. Sometimes, I also send emails to all of the MUN members. Well, I decided that it would be more efficient to combine the two processes. The product of my half-hour period of work is a new script that sends an email notification to everyone whenever I post a new article. From now on, I will rarely send direct emails to everyone. If I tell something to everyone, I will post an article on the website, and you will all receive an email about it.

As always, please let me know if there's anything else I can add to the website!

Changes to Calendar
Written by Rishi Garg on March 1, 2008

Hey, everyone! Once, again, congratulations on credentialing! I can't congratulate you enough on your accomplishments. You guys are doing great so far.

Anyway, I spent part of today updating the calendar. Now, instead of individual meeting plans (who I'll bet no one really looked at), you can click on a meeting in the calendar, and a box will slide open with information about the meeting. Pretty cool, huh? Maybe now it'll be more convenient to see what's going to happen at the next meeting!

Speaking of the next meeting, if you want to see, go check what we're doing on the calendar. Then look around the site and see if you can find the PDFs of the slideshows I'm going to be showing! ;D

Good Job on Credentialing!
Written by Rishi Garg on February 28, 2008

Hi everyone, I just wanted to tell everyone in the MUN club that Alejandra and I are very proud of all the hard work and effort you put into preparing for credentialing. It definitely paid off. As for Conor, I believe that he could have passed if he had gotten the same questions that we had. I have to admit, his credentialer gave him some pretty outrageous questions. Anyway, congratulations to everyone in the club, and keep up the good work!

New Photos
Written by Rishi Garg on February 20, 2008

Hi, everyone! I put some more pictures into the photo gallery on the "Program" page. I created two galleries within the main gallery: "Meetings" and "ISB Model World Summit". The names are self-explanatory. There are tons of pictures in each gallery, so please check them out and let me know what you think!

Website Updates
Written by Rishi Garg on February 17, 2008

I just updated most of the website. First of all, I removed Nigeria from the research page. I also added some more links to help you find India's policies on different issues. I know that finding the policies has been somewhat of a problem, so I hope the new links will help. I also reorganized all of the links on the research page, and added one of my resolutions from last year to serve as an example. On the program page, I updated the calendar with the new meeting dates and events. Mr. Fox took lots of pictures of the Summit, so those will be in the photo gallery very soon. Please browse through the website and let me know what other changes I can make!
